the most romantic race in the world,
Targa Florio in Sicily,
the last of the old style races on public roads,
founded in 1906,
a 45 miles long mountain circuit with over 800 corners,
lined by half a million hysterical Italians.
The 45th edition in 1970 was once again dominated by Porsche,
above is the Siffert/Redman 908 Spider
tearing through one of the villages along the track!
acrylic on paper 5x7" (2 of 3) sold
the second placed car also a Porsche 908 this one driven by Rodriquez and Kinnunen

here another painting to celebrate the Brawn,Button success.
I must say,
when i first laid eyes on this car i was horrified
the big front wing, high narrow rear wing
with the minimal livery,it all looked wrong
but as Ken Tyrrell used to say,
a car that wins is a car that looks good
this is all ready an iconic image of the 2009 season
